Moritz Moszkowski wrote his E major Piano Concerto Op.59 in 1898. It shows the influence of Chopin and Schumann. Paderewski said "After Chopin, Moszkowski best understands how to write for the piano, and his writing embraces the whole gamut of piano technique”. The broad Romantic themes of his music lend themselves to the solo piano, and this arrangement of the second movement (Andante) integrates the orchestral parts into a convincing solo texture. The arrangement is demanding but quite accessible to the more advanced player.
